"The test showed that China has made amazing progress in the development of hypersonic weapons and has moved much further in this area than American officials believed," the publication quotes the sources as saying.

The media does not give specific characteristics of the product. It is only known that the rocket, like some other new hypersonic systems, carries a planning unit.
The tests took place against the backdrop of rapidly deteriorating relations between China and the United States. In recent months, the US military has warned about Beijing's growing nuclear potential, especially after the publication of satellite images that showed that China is building more than 200 mines for intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Russia has long wanted to increase the potential of the Navy by equipping surface ships and submarines with a new hypersonic missile "Zircon". In September, it became known about the completion of its flight design tests from a surface carrier.
