Moscow. October 18. INTERFAX - The construction of prototypes of military transport aircraft IL-112B and passenger IL-114 does not stop, despite the investigation of the crash of Il-112B that occurred in August, said the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slyusar.
"Now the second prototype Il-114-300 is being assembled in Lukhovitsy. There are two IL-112 prototypes in production in Voronezh. We are not stopping the production of airframes," Slyusar said in an interview with the Vedomosti newspaper.
"The commission is working to investigate the incident. We will get the results - the further schedule for the implementation of the program and the necessary actions to minimize risks will become clearer," the head of the UAC said.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov said that due to the disaster, serial deliveries of IL-112B and Il-114 will begin later than planned in 2023.
It was expected that in 2021 the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will receive the first two Il-112B for subsequent state tests, and from 2023 serial deliveries will begin. Serial deliveries of the IL-114 were also planned for 2023.
On August 17, the only flight model of the new Il-112B transport crashed near Kubinka airfield in the Moscow region. The crash occurred during landing during a training flight in front of the Army-2021 forum. All three crew members were killed.
The crash of the IL-112B was preceded by the ignition of the right engine. Similar engines (turboprop TV7-117ST developed by ODK-Klimov of Rostec State Corporation) are installed on the passenger Il-114-300, which is also being tested. According to the UAC, the IL-114 test flights have been suspended until the causes of the Il-112B crash are clarified.
