Moscow. October 18. INTERFAX - As part of a large-scale command and staff exercise (KShU), the crews of about 20 Mi-8AMTSh helicopters of the Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Southern Military District (SE) ensured the landing of motorized rifle units of the coastal defense unit of the Black Sea Fleet during the practical actions of troops at the Opuk training ground in the Crimea.
"According to the scenario of the draw of hostilities, conditional gangs penetrated the territory of the republic in order to carry out terrorist attacks and destabilize the situation in other regions of the Southern Federal District. The militants were blocked by the forces of motorized rifle units of the army corps with the support of tactical airborne troops. Together with the tactical groups of the armed forces, the gangs were destroyed," the press service of the Southern Military District reported on Monday.
According to her, the landing of personnel was carried out by assault from the position of hovering helicopters above the ground using rope and other special means. The cover of the landing of the tactical landing was provided by the Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters.
The press service noted that formations and military units of the Southern Military District, as well as units of military bases stationed in Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia, as well as part of the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla, which will work out practical actions in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas, are taking part in the command and staff exercise.
