The Arctic campaign of the grouping of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet began on August 10 with the departure from Severomorsk. In two months, ships and support vessels have traveled 12 thousand nautical miles, conducted a number of exercises in the waters of the Barents and Kara Seas, in the Laptev Sea, as well as in the port of Dudinka (Taimyr Peninsula) and in the area of the Yakut village of Tiksi.
The North Sea sailors operated in a difficult ice situation in the area of the islands of the Franz Josef Land, Novaya Zemlya and Severnaya Zemlya archipelagos. Independently, without icebreaking wiring, they passed the Vilkitsky Strait separating the Kara Sea and the Laptev Sea.
