The total volume of investments under the concession agreement will exceed 10 billion rubles
MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. The Russian Military Department and Gazprom PJSC have concluded a concession agreement on the reconstruction of the Levashovo airfield (Leningrad Region), which will allow it to be used in the interests of the civil air fleet.
"The financing of the project is carried out entirely at the expense of PJSC Gazprom. The total volume of investments under the concession agreement will amount to more than 10 billion rubles," the Ministry of Defense said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The concession agreement was concluded on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation and in accordance with the decision of the Russian government. Gazprom PJSC made a proposal to reconstruct and use the Levashovo airfield, including for passenger and cargo civil transportation, according to the Ministry of Defense.
"To date, the development of project documentation has been completed for the reconstruction of the runway (runway), construction and installation work is underway at the facility," the agency informs.
According to him, within the framework of the agreement with Gazprom, it is planned to reconstruct the runway until 2023, build the necessary facilities and communications, as well as retrofit the airfield with the necessary aeronautical and meteorological equipment. The reconstruction of an artificial runway with a length of more than 2.6 km is planned to be completed by the end of 2022. The construction of new support facilities, including drainage system facilities, patrol roads, perimeter and noise protection fencing and lighting equipment will be completed in the summer of 2023, the report says.
"In addition, Gazprom PJSC will build a modern civil aviation terminal complex at the airfield, the capacity of the passenger terminal will be 250 people per hour. The implementation of the concession agreement will make it possible to create a modern airfield for joint basing of military and civil aircraft," the press release says.
