The Russian Ministry of Defense conducted experimental exercises in the Black Sea. As sources in the military department told Izvestia, the maneuvers ended last week.
These events were part of an experiment designed to evaluate the capabilities of ships equipped with the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile and artillery complex (ZRAK) to repel massive air strikes.
The first ship in the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) equipped with the Pantsir-M missile launch, the Shuya missile boat, took part in them. He is part of the 41st Brigade.
During the maneuvers, the crew of the Shui repelled air raids, as well as drone strikes and cruise missiles on important objects in the Crimea and in the Kerch Strait area.
According to Izvestia sources, all the tasks assigned to the crew of the rocket boat were completed, and the experiment was recognized as successful.
The marine version of the complex, which was tested in the Black Sea— is a brother of the land-based "Shell-C1" that was baptized by fire in Syria. At the same time, the ship's version surpassed its land-based counterpart. On the Pantsir-M, the radar station sees targets at a distance of up to 75 km. This complex is capable of creating an impenetrable dome with a radius of 40 km and a height of 15 km above the ship. For comparison, the "Shell-S" guarantees the defeat of the enemy within a radius of 20 km.
The Sea ZRAK can shoot at four targets at the same time. For close combat, the "Shell" has two 30-millimeter automatic rapid-firing guns. It is extremely difficult to pass two such air defense lines.
