The flight crew of the Eastern Military District (VVO) on the basis of a mixed aviation compound in the Khabarovsk Territory has begun practicing refueling in the air.
This is reported by the press service of the district.
The event is attended by pilots of fighter aircraft (Su-30sm, Su-35s) and bomber aircraft (Su-34). Refueling is carried out from the IL-78 tanker of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, taking into account compliance with the established requirements for altitude and speed when performing this type of flight training.
Pilots singly and as part of a pair fulfill the standard for refueling in the altitude range from 2 to 5 thousand meters at a speed of about 600 kilometers per hour.
Flights are operated both during the day and at night. In the dark, additional lighting is used for refueling, which is installed on a refueling aircraft and on a refueling combat aircraft.
