Until 1973, the car was used in the Canadian Air Force test squadron, and then it was sold to Norway. The fighter's military service ended in 1982, and since 1984 it has become part of the exposition of the Combat Jet Aircraft Museum (CJAM), located in Chino (California). Two years later, the aircraft was restored to airworthiness, and it was used for demonstration flights and performances at air shows. Over the past 22 years, the total flight time was only 200 hours.
The experienced fighter, which later received the designation F-104 Starfighter ("Star Fighter"), made its first flight on February 17, 1956, and exactly two years later the F-104A interceptors began to enter service with the US Air Force. Starfighter became the first aircraft to double the speed of sound and rise above 30 km. In addition, the fighter set new records for the rate of climb. For the large number of accidents and catastrophes involving this aircraft, it was unofficially nicknamed the "flying coffin".
