The publication of the American edition 19FortyFive named the deadliest weapon of the US Air Force (Air Force).
First on the list is the "mother of all bombs— - the almost ten-ton GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) heavy air blast munition, first used in 2003 in Afghanistan. The US Air Force has 15 GBU-43/B MOAB units. Next comes the B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber, which first took to the air back in 1952. A total of 744 such aircraft were built. "It can carry everything from nuclear to conventional bombs, cruise and hypersonic missiles. Basically, it carries guided bombs, such as Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM)," the publication says.
The third in the list is the inconspicuous B-2 Spirit strategic bomber, which is "the record holder for the longest combat flight in history." "He can fly out of the United States and refuel, drop bombs on other continents, and then return home," writes 19FortyFive.
The rating ends with the fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor fighters.
In September, the largest American military-industrial corporation Lockheed Martin announced that 700 F-35 Lightning II aircraft of all variants were delivered to customers.
