On the forum of the Russian game War Thunder revealed the secret of the French tank Leclerc. The player, who introduced himself as a former tankman, published part of the tank's documentation. A forum user tried to prove the unreliability of the characteristics of the machine displayed in the game. This is reported by the portal UK Defense Journal.
The War Thunder game is dedicated to battles involving modern military equipment. Some of the machines presented in the simulator are still in service, so most of the characteristics of the machines are classified. For this reason, the creators of the game are forced to make inaccuracies.
One of the players found out that the rotation speed of the Leclerc tank turret specified in the game differs from the characteristics of the real prototype. As proof, he posted part of the tank manual on the forum.
After a while, the moderators of the forum deleted the posted documents. The administration of the site stressed that the publication of classified documents about armored vehicles in the public domain can harm the people who operate these vehicles.
Earlier on the War Thunder forum, excerpts from the maintenance manual for British military equipment were posted. The player published documents that described the design features of the Challenger 2 tank.
