The US Marine Corps (KMP) is equipped with its own aircraft and armored forces, which causes a wide arsenal of weapons of this kind of troops. The author of the publication 19FortyFive compiled a list and named the deadliest weapons samples of the USMC.
The GAU-12\U Equalizer gun, built according to the Gatling multi-barrel scheme, opens the list. The rate of fire of a gun with five barrels reaches 4.2 thousand rounds per minute. A cannon shell can hit a target at a distance of up to 3.6 thousand meters.
The author also noted the Mk-20 Rockeye II cluster bomb: this projectile contains 247 explosive elements with a cumulative warhead. The Rockeye II bomb is used on F/A-18 aircraft of the KMP aviation to combat enemy armored vehicles.
Among the promising samples, the publication noted the NMESIS coastal missile system, which is planned to be adopted by the USMC in 2023. According to the author, the coastal complex will give advantages to the marines in the event of an aggravation of the situation in the South China Sea.
The fourth position in the list of the publication is occupied by the M1134 anti-tank complex based on the Stryker wheeled armored personnel carrier. The car received a launcher for two TOW missiles and a modern sight with a thermal imaging channel.
The AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter completes the list of the best weapons of the Marine Corps. The vehicle is equipped with a Gatling gun and can carry containers with guided and unguided missiles. According to the journalist, this helicopter is one of the best weapons of the USMC, which combines maneuverability and firepower.
Earlier, The National Interest magazine named four of the most powerful tanks in the world. The authors included the German Leopard 2 A7+, the American M1 Abrams, the South Korean K2 Black Panther and the Russian T-14 Armata in the list.
