Divisions of anti-ship coastal missile systems "BAL" and "Bastion" of the Baltic Fleet are practicing a missile strike on the ships of a conditional enemy on the coast of the Kaliningrad region.
As reported in the information support department of the press service of the Baltic Fleet, the tactical exercise of rocket scientists is carried out in accordance with the combat training plan of the fleet forces. The purpose of the training is to improve skills in detecting surface targets, issuing target designations when launching missile strikes in various conditions.
High mobility and long range are the features of missile systems. The Bastion, capable of protecting the coast with a length of more than 600 kilometers from a distance of 200 kilometers from the coast, can be fully deployed from the march to combat positions and prepared for firing in five minutes.
"BAL", also capable of quickly changing positions and starting shooting, can hit targets at a distance of up to 120 kilometers in the most adverse weather conditions, day and night.
At the naval training grounds, combat crews are working out ways to place equipment in various positions. They need to get into position, deploy complexes, conduct electronic launches and change the order of battle and location after the use of weapons.
The exercises will last until the end of the week. They involve more than a hundred military personnel and ten units of military and special equipment, as well as mobile coastal reconnaissance complexes of the sea and air situation.
