The state tests of the new generation hydroacoustic complex "Lira" have been completed in Russia. The advantages of Russian submarines with new equipment are named. The design features of the complex were revealed by the scientific director of the State Scientific Center Concern "Central Research Institute "Electropribor", Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Pedestrian in an interview with TASS .
The tests of the Lira complex have been completed, and the first submarine with a new GAC was the Lada Project 677 ship. According to Peskhodov, the Lira hydroacoustic complex is more effective than similar devices of foreign submarines. In the design of the Russian GAK, a conformal antenna was used, which the American nuclear submarines Virginia received ten years later, he stressed.
The new hydroacoustic complex includes a passive nose antenna, which replaced the sphere-shaped or cylinder-shaped antennas. Pedestrians explained that the quasi-conformal antenna is laid out in the bow of the submarine. This will combine more elements in the antenna, which increases the efficiency of the passive channel.
Pedestrians noted that in submarines with hydroacoustic complexes of the last generation, information processing was carried out in a strong boat hull. GAK "Lira" received hermetic information processing devices outside the case. This solution made it possible to reduce the length of communication lines and reduce the level of parasitic leads.
The advantage of the "Lira" was the compact computing part. According to Peskhodov, in the future this will allow to equip smaller diesel-electric submarines with elements of the complex.
Earlier it became known about plans to launch hypersonic missiles "Zircon" from the submarine. Two Zircon missiles from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine may be launched this year. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in the military-industrial complex.
