Moscow. September 28. INTERFAX - Russian-Pakistani exercises of special forces units "Druzhba-2021" have begun in the Krasnodar Territory, the Southern Military District (SE) reported on Tuesday.
"The servicemen of the two countries will work out cooperation in carrying out a wide range of tasks, in particular, on the joint action of a consolidated assault company during the assault of settlements and objects captured by illegal armed formations. Also, the main task of the units will be conducting combat operations in urban conditions," the report says.
The exercises, which involve about 100 servicemen of the armed forces of Pakistan and about 100 servicemen of the Southern Military District, will last until October 9 and will end with "a joint tactical and special lesson on the action of an assault company during the storming of a settlement and objects," the district headquarters informs.
According to him, "as part of a single training, Pakistani servicemen will perform live firing from the armament of an armored personnel carrier BTR-82A, a Makarov pistol in motion, from a modernized Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD-M), will perform disassembly and assembly of the Kalashnikov AK-74M, as well as shooting from a standing trench from a machine gun (PKP-M) and an AK-74M machine gun."
The opening ceremony of the dRuzhba-2021 exercise took place in the Krasnodar Territory at the Molkino training ground.
The Chief of Staff of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, Major General Valery Plokhotnyuk, and the military attache of the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia on defense issues, Brigadier General Mahmoud Rashid, addressed the participants with a parting word.
According to Rashid, the dRuzhba-2021 exercise is a very important event for the Pakistani military.
"We are glad to exchange the professional experience of the servicemen of our countries, as well as to strengthen cooperation in the military sphere between the special forces units of Russia and Pakistan," Rashid said, quoted by the press service of the Southern Military District.
"During the opening of the exercises, demonstration performances of servicemen of the special forces unit and engineering assault groups of the Southern Military District, a demonstration of modern equipment and weapons of the Armed Forces of Russia were held. Also, during the opening of the international exercise, the URAN-6 robots and the Cobra-1600 robotic complex from the newest mobile mine clearance complex of the MICR performed a waltz," the press release says.
