Il-38 aircraft and Ka-29 helicopters were involved in the exercises
KAMCHATKA TERRITORY, September 28. /TASS/. Combat aviation of the Pacific Fleet conducted exercises in Kamchatka with the implementation of practical bombing and missile launches. Il-38 anti-submarine planes and Ka-29 helicopters launched a bomb and missile attack on a simulated enemy in the area of the Halaktyrsky beach of the Avacha Bay, the press service of the fleet told reporters.
"The crews of Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft and Ka-29 helicopters from the mixed aviation regiment of the Red Banner Troops and forces in the north-east of Russia conducted exercises with practical bombing and missile launches," the navy noted.
According to the plan of the maneuvers, a conditional enemy was detected at the Pacific Fleet training ground in the area of the Halaktyrsky beach of the Avacha Bay. Planes and helicopters were sent to eliminate it.
"Ka-29 transport and combat helicopters in the coastal strip conducted launches of unguided aircraft missiles and cannon firing at targets simulating military equipment and landing personnel, and Il-38 aircraft carried out bombing on them," the press release says. Before the flights, thorough training was carried out with a check of the readiness of the engineering and technical staff, ground services and specialists.
The press service stressed that the flights and bombing took place along the established route in accordance with the combat training plan.
