Russian scientists have created new means of overcoming minefields. Employees of the Military Institute of Engineering Troops presented two models of minesweepers designed to protect wheeled and tracked vehicles. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Major Andrey Dontsov and Lieutenant Colonel Denis Roslov have developed new minesweepers based on modern combat tactics. Scientists have analyzed the existing methods of installing minefields and mines in service with foreign states.
The modular trawl is built on the basis of an elliptical frame, which ensures the system's resistance to explosion. Modules weighing up to 60 kilograms are attached to the frame, which makes it possible for the crew to assemble the device without special equipment. Installing the copying sections of the trawl at a certain angle allows you to continue trawling after encountering an insurmountable obstacle and at terrain changes. The new trawl can be used on vehicles with tracked and wheeled chassis.
The second development was a roller trawl designed for wheeled vehicles. The device received a frame of a special shape, which reduces the damage from detonation. The trawl is also built on a modular principle, which allows you to quickly change damaged elements.
Both developments can work together with devices for minesweeping with electromagnetic fuses and neutralization of pin mines.
Earlier it became known about the first use of Russian robots in the combat formations of combined arms units. According to Interfax, at the ZAPAD-2021 strategic exercises, the URAN-6 robotic complexes made passages in minefields.
