The Serbian army has deployed its best T-72MS "White Eagle" main battle tanks on the administrative border with Kosovo. Over the weekend, videos appeared on the Network showing the transfer of these combat vehicles on heavy-duty trawls.
Among the tractors involved, you can see MAZ-537 four-axle heavy trucks.
The command of the armed forces was forced to take retaliatory measures after the provocative actions of representatives of the self-proclaimed territory at the checkpoints "Yarine" and "Brnyak". The Kosovo police deployed a group consisting of more than three hundred people, including snipers, and two dozen armored vehicles in the zone of tension.
The T-72MS were transferred to Serbia by Russia. The tanks are armed with 125-mm cannons capable of using both conventional artillery ammunition and guided missiles. There is also a 7.62-mm twin machine gun, a closed 12.7-mm anti-aircraft gun. The gunner-operator and commander have a modern multi-channel sight and a panorama at their disposal.
"White Eagles" have mounted dynamic protection, modern means of communication and navigation, an 840-horsepower diesel engine that provides good mobility characteristics. A total of 30 units of such equipment were received.
Serbian helicopters and planes, including MiG-29s armed with R-73 air-to-air missiles, are also patrolling the border areas. J-22 Orao with two American-made AGM-65 Maverick air-to-surface guided missiles and 128-mm unguided rockets were also spotted.
