In Russia, the production of a new system for protecting equipment from high-precision weapons has begun. The Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering " Tsniitochmash "of the Rostec State Corporation has started mass production of unified protection systems. This is reported on the Rostec website.
The device is designed to protect the TOS-2 "Tosochka" heavy flamethrower system and the PRP-2 reconnaissance vehicle. Also, the automated artillery control complex "Zavet-D"will receive a new development.
The new complex consists of attack warning sensors, control and display equipment, as well as launching devices with aerosol ammunition. The development makes it possible to protect equipment from high-precision weapons with thermal, optical, laser and radar guidance channels.
Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Rostec cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemicals, spoke about the operation of the system. According to him, the sensors of the complex determine the threat of an attack. After that, aerosol ammunition is shot, which creates a curtain of combined interference. This disrupts the contact of the attacking munition with the target, knocking it off course.
According to the representative of Rostec, the tests showed the ability of the complex to protect equipment from attacks by high-precision aircraft weapons and anti-tank missiles.
Earlier, the head of the development and design department of the Kolomna KBM, Vladimir Kharkiv, revealed the features of the protection of Russian tanks on the air of the Zvezda TV channel. According to him, the Arena-M active protection complex (KAZ) has received defensive ammunition with pulse engines that allow projectiles to deploy towards the threat.
