INTERFAX-Military police units of the Central Military District (CVO), including at the Russian military base in Tajikistan, will receive new special equipment and "Gyurza" stun guns by the end of the year, Konstantin Smirnov, head of the regional military police department of the Central Military District, told reporters on Wednesday.
"By the end of this year, the military police units of the military district will receive for the first time two Patrol armored vehicles based on the Ural all-terrain vehicle and two Typhoon-K units designed on the chassis of the KAMAZ car. Modern samples of special equipment will replenish the fleet of weapons of the military police at the Russian military base in Tajikistan, the Sverdlovsk and Samara regions and will be used during the service for the organization of law and order during the combat training of troops, " Smirnov said.
In addition, according to him, by the end of the year, the military commandant's offices and military units of the military police of the Central Military District will be equipped with non-lethal means.
