Russian cosmonauts on board the ISS reported a smell in the Zvezda module, which appeared in the area of the working air conditioning system (SLE). This is reported by RIA Novosti .
Answering a question from a specialist at the Moscow Mission Control Center about what the smell is currently, cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky said that it has become smaller.
The Mission Control Center noted that both SLE systems are now disabled, and asked to wipe the area of the possible place of the smell with a napkin for analysis on the Ground. The astronauts were also advised to turn on the air purification system if necessary.
Earlier, Oleg Novitsky informed the MCC about the triggered alarm in the Zvezda module . After that, the crew smelled burning and saw smoke. The astronauts were instructed to inspect the devices of the power supply system "as soon as possible" and find the source of the smell.
