MOSCOW, September 21/ Sputnik Radio. The crews of the ships of the Northern Fleet conducted exercises to protect the Northern Sea Route in the Laptev Sea, the Zvezda TV channel reports.
The maneuvers involved a large anti-submarine ship "Severomorsk", a large landing ship "George the Victorious", as well as a Ka-27 helicopter.
"Marines from the anti-terrorist units worked out the reflection of a conditional attack of small-sized high-speed watercraft and performed firing from submachine guns and machine guns at a sea target," the report says.
The publication also published a video of the workout.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported about a missile firing from a nuclear submarine of the project 949A "Eagle" in the Barents Sea as part of exercises in the Arctic.
