"The crews of the small anti-submarine ships "Kasimov" and "Yeisk" conducted an exercise to search and detect a submarine of a conditional enemy. The role of a conditional enemy was performed by the crew of the submarine Veliky Novgorod, " the message says.
"During the exercise, tactical techniques were practiced for the continuous pursuit of the submarine and its destruction with torpedo weapons and rocket bombs," the press service of the fleet reported. According to her, anti-submarine aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet took part in this episode of maneuvers.
According to the military, the exercise was held in the sea ranges of the Black Sea as part of the joint maneuvers of the ships of the Crimean and Novorossiysk naval bases that began on September 20.
On September 20, the Russian military announced the beginning of major maneuvers in the Black Sea - about 20 surface ships left Sevastopol and Novorossiysk: missile, anti-submarine ships, submarines, fleet minesweeping forces, auxiliary and rescue vessels.
"The ships' departure for exercises at sea ranges is carried out in accordance with the action plan for the combat training of the Black Sea Fleet for the 2021 academic year," the fleet said.
On September 20, the Southern Military District announced the start of ground tactical exercises at training grounds in the Rostov region, Chechnya, Crimea and South Ossetia.
"About 10 thousand servicemen take part in the exercises on the territory of the Southern Military District, about 800 units of weapons and equipment are involved, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery guns and multiple rocket launchers. For the purpose of interspecific interaction, more than 40 aircraft and helicopters of army and tactical aviation have been attracted from the association of the Air Force and air Defense of the Southern Military District," the press service of the Southern Military District said in a statement.
At the same time, the Ukrainian-American Rapid Trident-2021 exercises started in the Lviv region of Ukraine on September 20, the Ministry of Defense of this country reported. The exercises will last from September 20 to October 1. About 6 thousand servicemen will take part in them.
The opening ceremony of the maneuvers was attended by representatives of the US armed forces and partner countries. Servicemen of 13 other countries, in particular, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Turkey and Poland, are taking part in the Ukrainian-American exercises. In addition, the personnel of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade were involved in the maneuvers.
Earlier it was reported that as part of these maneuvers, a multinational battalion will conduct live firing. A joint landing of Ukrainian and American servicemen from a US military transport aircraft C-130 is planned.
On September 10-15, the Zapad-2021 strategic exercise took place on the territory of Russia and Belarus, which involved about 200 thousand military personnel, about 80 aircraft and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, including 290 tanks, 240 guns, multiple rocket launchers and mortars, as well as up to 15 ships. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that about 2.5 thousand Russian military personnel were transferred to Belarus as part of the exercises.
On September 17, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed plans to return troops, ships, and aircraft to bases after the Zapad-2021 exercises until mid-October.
