Large-scale exercises involving warships, submarines, and naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet started on Monday on the Black Sea. This was announced today by the head of the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet Alexey Rulev.
- About 20 surface ships and support vessels went to sea from their bases in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk for joint exercises with missile and artillery firing, - said Rulev.
The exercises will involve missile and anti-submarine ships, submarines, fleet minesweeping forces, auxiliary and rescue vessels.
The sailors have already worked out the exit from the bases, passed the mined area along the pre-drilled strip, performed maneuvering in areas of intensive navigation.
- In the naval training grounds, the crews will perform rocket and artillery firing, conduct a complex of exercises on trawling, conducting naval combat, searching and destroying a submarine, striking a coastal command post, as well as repelling an air attack of a conditional enemy, - said Rulev.
The exercises will also involve aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation and air defense of the Black Sea Fleet. The command will monitor the maneuvers with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles.
