TSAMTO, September 20. The personnel of the artillery units of the separate Guards amphibious assault unit stationed in Ulan-Ude have begun to master the new virtual artillery range "Arterra", which was received by the unit this month.
The Arterra computer artillery range allows you to conduct virtual classes and trainings on shooting and controlling all types of fire, implementing any method of firing various types of ammunition in real time.
At the virtual training ground, the degree of destruction of the target is taken into account and an assessment of the effectiveness of performing the assigned combat task is made. The polygon allows you to simulate fire day and night on all types of terrain, in any weather, as well as recreate any terrain using data from electronic topographic maps.
"Arterra" is a complex of software and hardware, including automated workstations of the head of the class and trainees. Using special software, it completely simulates all the elements of shooting preparation and fire control.
The virtual training ground allows you to conduct training in artillery specialties without going to field training grounds, thereby allowing you to significantly save the motor resource of military equipment and fuel, and at the same time not reduce the quality of training of specialists.
The gunners of the amphibious assault unit worked out practical skills of artillery calculations at command and observation posts and firing positions, as well as conducting fire correction from 122-mm D-30 howitzers, 120-mm 2C9 "Nona-S" self-propelled guns, 152-mm 2C19 "Msta-S" self-propelled artillery units, 122-mm 2C1 "Gvozdika" self-propelled artillery units and 152-mm 2A65 "Msta-B" howitzers, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
