The test flights of four modernized Su-25 attack aircraft belonging to the country's Defense Forces have been completed in Georgia, they were previously equipped with a modern radio-electronic navigation system, the press service of the Government of Georgia reports.
"By the end of the year, we will have six restored Su-25s. You can also see the active recovery process of the Mi-24. We will intensively produce these helicopters, " Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said.
According to the Prime Minister, four American helicopters have already been sent from Georgia to the United States for modernization.
"Very soon, in a few months, they will arrive and the entire aviation fleet will be completely repaired and restored," Garibashvili said.
As the head of the government said during a visit to the new assembly shop for the repair of aircraft equipment on the territory of the Tbilisi Aviation Plant "Tbilaviamsheni", the process of restoring UH-1 helicopters continues, the overhaul of four units of Type A-2 aircraft, which have already been transferred to the base of the mixed aviation squadron and are actively used to solve a variety of tasks, has been fully completed.
The process of updating the fleet is carried out in cooperation with the enterprises "Tbilaviamsheni" and "Delta", writes Eadaily.
