ROSTOV-ON-DON, September 17. /TASS/. The division of border boats of the border department of the FSB of Russia has been replenished with a new ship that will serve in the waters of the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov. This was reported to journalists on Friday in the press service of the Border Administration.
"A solemn flag raising took place on a new border ship that entered service in the division of border boats of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Rostov region. <...> This is a new main project of border ships designed to solve the tasks facing the coast guard units of the FSB of Russia, both on the sea sections of the border and in river waters at shallow depth, which will allow it to be effectively used in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov," the message says.
The ship's crew of 12 people will be able to solve tasks at sea in autonomous navigation for up to 20 days, the press service noted. The ship is armored, equipped with modern technical means of monitoring the sea space, the latest navigation, video recording and guidance devices that allow you to detect, identify and, if necessary, hit a target located at a considerable distance.
In addition, the draft and additional equipment of the ship allows it to land on an unequipped shore, move at depths of up to 1 m, participate in fire-fighting and other rescue activities.
According to the press service, since the beginning of the year, border guards have detained about 200 violators in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov on the border section in the Rostov region, about 2 thousand illegal fishing gear with a total length of about 80 km, as well as illegally obtained fish worth over 77 million rubles, have been seized from poachers.
