"In July, at the INNOPROM exhibition in Yekaterinburg, we presented the Sarma underwater drone-for geological exploration, monitoring of gas and oil pipeline systems in the Arctic, chemical analysis-and all this in autonomous mode. Autonomy - up to three months, which is very important in an ice situation. In 2024, we plan to launch a series on this product, " Vedrov said in an interview with Interfax on Monday.
Earlier it was reported that the mass-dimensional prototype of the autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle " Sarma "was manufactured by the Nizhny Novgorod plant of the 70th anniversary of Victory as part of the project of the Advanced Research Foundation (the developer of the device is JSC "Lazurit Central Design Bureau").
This underwater drone will be able to conduct research of the depths of the World Ocean for a long time, including under the ice, and transport various cargo. It is also capable of servicing underwater structures and communications, managing underwater equipment of the oil and gas complex, searching for sunken objects.
