More than 300 units of military equipment were involved in the exercises

Units of the army Corps of the Northern Fleet during the exercises repelled the attack of a conditional enemy on the Kola Peninsula, they were supported by front-line Su-24 bombers. This was reported to journalists in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The exercises with live firing from all types of weapons and military equipment were held at the training ground in the Pechengsky district of the Murmansk region. More than 300 units of military equipment were involved in them," the press service said.
According to the navy, the main episode of the exercises - conducting defense in repelling a blow from a conditional enemy who tried to go on the offensive on the Kola Peninsula - involved T-80BVM tanks, self-propelled artillery installations "Carnation" and "Acacia", tracked armored personnel carriers, air defense systems, as well as drones. More than 2 thousand military personnel took part in the episode.
"The crews of front-line Su - 24 bombers from the separate mixed aviation regiment of the Northern Fleet Air Force and Air Defense Association, who carried out aerial bomb attacks on the advancing forces of a conditional enemy, provided support to the units that were on the defensive," the press service added.
The exercises are the final stage of the complex of measures for operational and combat training of the Northern Fleet forces this year. They are held at the landfills of the Murmansk Region, in the waters of the Barents and Kara Seas, the Laptev Sea near the Novosibirsk Islands, the Franz Josef Land archipelago. Up to 8 thousand military personnel, about 800 units of combat and special equipment, including about 40 tanks, 460 armored combat vehicles, up to 240 guns, mortars and multiple rocket launchers, about 120 aircraft, including unmanned aerial vehicles, up to 50 ships and support vessels, are involved in the exercises.
