Successful firing by the Granit anti-ship complex took place during military exercises in the Barents Sea. This was reported on September 12 in the press service of the Northern Fleet.
The firing was carried out by the crew of the nuclear submarine "Eagle", the target was located at a distance of more than 100 km from the launch point of the rocket.
"The firing of the Granit anti-ship cruise missile was carried out from an underwater position at a target position simulating a large surface ship of a conditional enemy," the Defense Ministry said.
As concluded in the Russian military department, the crew successfully completed the task. High naval training was demonstrated.
In October 2020, as part of the preparation, the nuclear submarine "Eagle" fired a Granit missile at a surface target in the Barents Sea. After the successful missile firing, the affected target was examined by the crew of the Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft of the separate mixed aviation regiment of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Northern Fleet.
