Ministry of Defense: more than 240 modern and modernized tanks will be delivered to the troops in 2021

MOSCOW, 12 Sep-RIA Novosti. More than 240 modern and modernized tanks will be delivered to the units of the Land Forces of the Russian Federation this year. The relevant information is published on the website of the Ministry of Defense.

We are talking about the T-72b3M, T-80BVM and T-90 "Breakthrough" combat vehicles. The military department stressed that the tank fleet is updated annually. Enterprises of the military-industrial complex supply units of the Ground Forces with modern samples of armored vehicles that have successfully proven themselves during operation in various climatic zones.

Earlier, Deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry Alexey Krivoruchko said that by the end of the year, the Armed Forces will receive 20 new T-14 Armata tanks. In addition, in 2021, the army will receive 65 serial T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks.

The army will be handed over 18 reconnaissance and strike UAVs of medium and heavy classes and will deliver a brigade set of the Iskander-M operational and tactical complex ahead of schedule.

The T-72B3 is a Russian main battle tank of the T-72 family. The T-72B3 modification was developed as an economical alternative to the main T-90A tank until the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation received a new generation of tanks, the T-14. It is a relatively simple modernization of the T-72B tank, with bringing some parameters to the level of the T-90A.

The T-80 is a combat vehicle, the main tank produced in the USSR. A tank with a single gas turbine power plant. The world's first main tank with built-in anti-discharge dynamic protection. The T-80BVM is a deep modernization of the T-80BV tank, which entered service in 1985.

The T-90 is a Russian main battle tank. T-90M "Breakthrough" is a new modification of the T-90A, created during the development work "Breakthrough-3".

The T-14 is the world's only tank of the third post-war generation. "Armata" is designed for conducting combat in direct contact with the enemy, supporting the offensive of motorized rifle units and destroying enemy manpower located in shelters and in open terrain.
