The Ukrainian armored car "Dozor-B" caught fire during factory tests. The fire on the prototype of the car occurred during the inspection of fire-fighting equipment. This may delay the process of adopting the machine for service, " Defense News reports .

The authors of the publication note that the incident occurred on the territory of the Kharkiv Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering on September 7. The prototype of the final version of the tactical wheeled combat vehicle (TKBM) "Dozor-B"caught fire. It is believed that we are talking about a car that was prepared for qualification tests. After this stage of testing, the serial production of TKBM should begin.

According to Defense Express, the fire occurred during testing of fire-fighting equipment. To check the fire extinguishers, a lit smoke bomb was placed in a bucket, and the bucket itself was installed in the car interior. The testers did not take into account that the bucket was in oil. This circumstance led to the fire of the TCBM.

It was possible to extinguish the fire in the car only with a powder fire extinguisher. This method of extinguishing can damage equipment that was not touched by the fire, Defense Express notes.

Now the employees of the KKBM are assessing the scale of the damage. If the equipment of foreign production failed during the fire, this may delay the start of the qualification tests of "Dozor-B", - the authors of the material summarize.

The armored car "Dozor-B" was developed in the KKBM in 2006. Since 2013, armored cars have been manufactured in Poland under a Ukrainian license. The TCBM reservation provides protection against small arms bullets and anti-personnel mines. The car weighing 6.3 tons develops a maximum speed on the highway up to 90 kilometers per hour.

Earlier it became known about the conclusion of a contract for the supply of Ukrainian ship engines to an Indian customer. The M7N2 power plants developed by the enterprise "Zorya" - "Mashproekt" are intended for the Indian ships of the project 11356, which were designed in Russia.
