The Baltic Fleet held exercises on conducting reconnaissance by unmanned aerial vehicles.
The training was held in preparation for the joint strategic exercises of the Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus "West-2021", the head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the BF, Captain of the 1st rank Roman Martov, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
After the alarm signal, the units of unmanned aerial vehicles marched to the designated area. Arriving at the site, they deployed a control post, launched Orlan-10 drones and began aerial reconnaissance.
The participants of the exercises were looking for disguised command posts. A necessary condition was the detection of the" enemy " in the shortest possible time, at one refueling of the fuel tank. All UAV calculations showed their professionalism and met the regulatory deadlines.
In addition, the "Eagles "were involved in the exercises of the gunners of the Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet, which were held in another area also in preparation for the"West-2021".
The calculations of the Grad and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems operated in cooperation with the drone operators as part of the ROCK reconnaissance and fire complex, which was developed based on the experience of modern armed conflicts and includes means of reconnaissance, control and fire destruction.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, after conducting reconnaissance of the "enemy" forces, transmitted their coordinates to the command post. After that, the gunners carried out the defeat of targets. The actions of the rocket divisions as part of the ROCK made it possible to monitor the accuracy of artillery strikes in real time, adjust fire and quickly manage combat calculations.
