No country today has weapons capable of countering the Russian airline complex with a hypersonic Kinzhal missile. This was announced on Wednesday by the head of the Rostec state Corporation Sergey Chemezov.
"We produce these missiles. First of all, they are highly accurate, they hit the target at a long distance. Plus, they have a very high speed, it is actually impossible to intercept such a missile. So far, there is no such counteraction to our missiles today, "Chemezov said during the" New Knowledge " marathon.
A few days ago, at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021", the Russian Defense Ministry signed a new contract for the production and supply of missiles for the hypersonic complex to the Armed Forces.
It is known that the "Dagger", capable of accelerating up to 10 "Machs" and invulnerable to any existing air defense systems, is already on experimental combat duty in the Southern Military District. More precisely, since 2018, it has been carried by MiG-31K high-altitude interceptors equipped with unique hypersonic missiles. It was reported about plans to equip the aviation regiment in the Krasnoyarsk Territory with these complexes by 2024. And in December 2019, the Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, said that Russia was expanding the geography of the use of the Kinzhal hypersonic aviation complex and had already tested it in the Arctic.
"Dagger" provides strikes on targets at a range of more than 2000 km, without entering the enemy's air defense zone. A high-speed carrier aircraft allows you to deliver a rocket to the drop area in a few minutes. The main engine of the rocket accelerates the constantly maneuvering warhead to hypersonic speed within seconds. The use of an all-weather homing head on the final flight section guarantees the accuracy and selectivity of hitting targets in both light and dark hours.
