The Technodinamika holding of the Rostec State Corporation is developing a new universal parachute cargo harness that will allow the military to land immediately with light artillery weapons, such as mortars or anti-tank guided missiles. This was told to TASS by the chief designer of the holding for parachuting Alexey Kozin.
"There are several ways to deliver goods. One of them is directly with a paratrooper, using universal parachute harnesses. That is, we can land a fighter immediately with weapons, thereby providing the army with light artillery weapons directly at the place of performing a combat task. A person can land mortars, anti-tank guided missiles, rescue vehicles-anything, within the dimensions and weight characteristics of the system, " he said.
Kozin clarified that currently such jumps with oversized weapons at landing speeds of 350 km / h are not performed in any army in the world. The universal parachute cargo harness UPGO-80-500 being developed will allow landing oversized weapons and cargo weighing up to 130 kg together with a parachutist.
The international military-technical forum "Army-2021" is held in Kubinka near Moscow from August 22 to 28.
