During the international military-technical forum "Army-2021", the concern "Marine Underwater Weapons-Hydropribor" presented an underwater drone designed to explore the seabed, TASS reports .
"The autonomous carrier of hydrophysical equipment of variable buoyancy (ANGAPP) is used in lighting systems, reconnaissance and electronic warfare in the underwater environment as a carrier of various equipment in accordance with the task being performed," the product description says.
According to the deputy general designer of the concern Mikhail Kettuev, the ANGAPP does not have its own engine, but the drone moves due to a change in buoyancy. "The speed of movement in space is small, but taking into account the fact that it can work for a long time, if translated into figures that are understandable to us, it is one and a half kilometers per hour. The depth of the dive is up to 300 meters, " the specialist said.
ANGAPP is able to go into autonomous navigation for three months. As a load, the device can use, in particular, a camera, magnetometers and sonars. "Can be used to search for mines. Bottom mines are usually hidden, silted up and do not represent anything but an underwater rock when viewed, " Kettuev said.
Also during the "Army-2021", the concern "Marine underwater weapons-Hydropribor" showed the station "Mayak-2014", capable of detecting swimmers at a range of up to 500 meters.
In June, the nuclear submarine "Belgorod" of the project 09852, which is to become the carrier of nuclear torpedoes "Poseidon", for the first time entered the factory sea trials in the White Sea.
In February 2019, the Russian Defense Ministry presented the first video of the Poseidon field tests.
