To use the rocket on various types of carriers: airplanes, helicopters, its registration is required, a complex of special flight tests for each machine.
The S-13 NAR system has already been registered on MiG-29BM, Su-24M, Su-25, Su-30MK2, Yak-130 and Mi-28N helicopters, Alexander Kochkin, executive director of NPO Techmash, told TASS.
According to him, the S-13 combines the capabilities of several unguided 122 mm caliber missiles. The new missile has a switch of the initiation unit for instantaneous detonation of the warhead and two decelerations: small and large.
"If you put the switch on instantaneous detonation, we will get the result of C-13OF. The explosion will occur on the surface and hit lightly armored vehicles. When setting the maximum deceleration, the effect of C-13T will be achieved, " Kochkin said.
The S-13B combat unit is designed, in particular, to destroy aircraft in reinforced concrete shelters, airfield runways.
