The technical solutions being worked out during the creation of the ROSS orbital station will find their application in modules that will be sent to other planets.
The creation of a promising ROSS orbital station is becoming more real every day. [...] Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Roscosmos, told about the new details of the program.
According to him, the station will not only provide an actual replacement for the ISS, but also bring Russia closer to manned interplanetary flights. The head of the space agency called ROSS the actual "prototype" of modules for deep space exploration.
Rogozin also noted that the station itself will have cardinal differences from everything that is now. Among the main features is the possibility of "full control of outer space".
It is known that ROSS will not have a permanent crew: it will become a kind of space port. The first basic module should be ready around the middle of the decade.
Earlier it became known about the planned withdrawal of Russia from the ISS program. The reason for this (at least formally) was called the unsatisfactory technical condition of the international station.
