At Army-2021, a discussion was held on the instrumentation of laboratories in the interests of biological protection of troops

TSAMTO, August 26. A round table on the topic was held within the framework of the MVTF "Army-2021" : "Current trends in the development of means and methods of specific indication in the interests of biological protection of troops and the population of the Russian Federation".

The round table was attended by specialists from 48 Central Research Institutes of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and its branches, 33 Central Research Institutes of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, 27 National Research Centers of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, 35 Central Research Institutes of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Military Academy of the Marshal of the Soviet Union S. K. Timoshenko, the Military Medical Academy named after S. M. Kirov, the Academy of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Russian engineers and designers of the IAP RAS, the Research Institute of SVT, GosNIIBP, representatives of leading domestic commercial organizations specializing in the design of means of specific indication and identification of pathogenic biological agents.

During the discussion, the experts touched upon the issues of instrumentation of modern diagnostic laboratories used for specific indication of pathogens, assessed the possibility of using mobile and field kits for the detection and identification of pathogenic biological agents, as well as modern reagent tools for processing and analyzing samples for the presence of pathogens. The experts also discussed new approaches to the detection and identification of pathogens of infectious diseases of bacterial, viral and rickettsious nature and toxicosis in environmental objects.

As a result of the round table, the most relevant areas of development and improvement of means and methods of specific indication were identified in terms of increasing their sensitivity, specificity and expressiveness; reducing the weight and size characteristics of equipment in the interests of biological protection of troops and the population of the Russian Federation. The experts of the conference also formulated proposals on the areas of cooperation between the R & D of the Russian Armed Forces Defense Forces with industrial enterprises in order to create new samples of equipment and reagent agents, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
