At the moment, the drones are almost ready for testing
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 25. /TASS/. JSC "Kronstadt" is negotiating with the Ministry of Emergency Situations about the possibility of using helicopter-type drones in extinguishing forest fires. This was announced to TASS by the general director of the enterprise Sergey Bogatikov at the Army forum.
"We are now starting to use our helicopter systems in experiments on cargo delivery and are working with the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the possibility of using unmanned helicopters to extinguish fires," Bogatikov said.
At the moment, the drones are almost ready for testing, it remains to work out the methodology of application together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations and produce the necessary batch to perform these tasks. It is assumed that from one control point it will be possible to control both a helicopter and a drone aircraft.
"The Orion-E UAV performs several tasks at once in this version: monitoring over large areas and directing aircraft, including unmanned ones, to the fire site, and is also a repeater for an unmanned helicopter, increasing its radius of use to hundreds of kilometers," Bogatikov added.
The helicopter-type UAV with a fire extinguishing system is a development of the Strela enterprise (part of the Kronstadt Group of Companies). Its maximum take-off weight is 450 kg. The fire extinguishing system is a bomb load, which is essentially a chemical powder fire extinguisher.
The International military-technical Forum "Army-2021" is held in the Patriot Shopping Center from August 22 to 28.
