Borisov confirmed that the construction of nuclear submarines of the Yasen type will continue

The Deputy Prime Minister said this on the sidelines of the second stage of the pre-election congress of United Russia

MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. The construction of multi-purpose nuclear submarines of the Yasen project 885 will continue, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told reporters on the sidelines of the second stage of the pre-election congress of United Russia.

"Of course, they will, but what about us without them," Borisov said, answering the corresponding question.

The nuclear submarines of the project 885 and 885M "Yasen" and "Yasen-M" were developed by the St. Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau "Malachit". Currently, Sevmash has seven such submarines at various stages of construction. The lead submarine of the project 885M "Kazan" was transferred to the Russian Navy on May 7. The main attack weapons of submarines of the 885/885M projects are Kalibr - PL and Onyx cruise missiles.

Ну и отличная новость !
К таким с огромным трудом доведенным до ума проектам нужно трепетно относиться !
Все кто помнят как первенец 885М Казань тяжело шла к передаче Флоту, думаю согласятся что любая новизна это потом на годы возможны затяжки.

В идеале каждый из 10 потенциальных РПКСН Борей/А на боевое патрулирование должен выходить в эскорте из 2-х ед. 885М + 1 единица небольшой высокоманевренной чисто торпедной лодки-охотника со скоростью хода за 40 узлов (аналог пр.705 на новом техническом уровне)
