KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 24. /TASS/. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has signed a contract with PJSC Tupolev for the modernization of the Tu-95MS to the level of the Tu-95MSM. This was reported to journalists on Tuesday in the military department.
"During the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021", a state contract was signed for the modernization of the Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers into the Tu-95MSM variant, " the Defense Ministry said.
The document was signed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexey Krivoruchko and the managing director of Tupolev Vadim Korolev.
As a result of the modernization, the navigation accuracy and reliability indicators of the missile carriers will significantly increase, the service life of the aviation complex will be extended, and the take-off and landing characteristics will be improved. The aircraft will be equipped with new weapons control systems, aircraft control systems, flight and navigation equipment, an on-board communication complex, a radar station, and objective control means.
