Moscow. August 24. INTERFAX-The Russian Defense Ministry has signed contracts for the supply of reconnaissance and strike drones "Pacer-RU" ("Orion") and "Outpost-R", the military department told reporters.
"A state contract has been signed for the supply of a complex with the Inokhodets-RU unmanned aerial vehicle," the Defense Ministry said.
The document was signed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexey Krivoruchko and the general director of the Kronshtadt company Sergey Bogatikov.
A state contract was also signed with the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) for the supply of Outpost-R drones.
In addition, the military agreed on the supply of guided and unguided ammunition for drones to the troops.
As Interfax reported, the import-substituted UAV "Outpost-R", which received shock functions, was presented at the Army-2021 forum.Since 2010, it has been produced in the Russian Federation as a licensed copy of the Israeli Searcher MkII.
"The unmanned aerial vehicle is designed to destroy single stationary, mobile and moving ground objects, conduct aerial and optoelectronic reconnaissance," says the description of the Forpost-R sample displayed at the Army-2021 forum.
The exhibit is equipped with two small-sized missiles placed on an external suspension under the wing consoles of the device.
The description of the characteristics of the" Outpost-R " indicates that with a maximum take-off weight of 500 kg, it is capable of carrying aircraft weapons with a total weight of up to 100 kg.
Previously, the Outpost drones, assembled from foreign components, which were serially supplied to the Russian army, were intended exclusively for reconnaissance.
In 2019, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and UZGA signed a contract for the supply of 30 Outpost-R drones, Deputy head of the department Alexey Krivoruchko reported. According to him, in 2020 it was planned to conclude an agreement for another 54 drones (18 complexes with three UAVs each).
The Orion UAV, developed by Kronstadt as part of the Pacer program, is the first MALE class UAV (Medium Altitude Long Endurance - a class of medium - altitude UAVs with a long flight duration), fully developed in Russia and built from domestic components. The maximum take - off weight of the device is 1,150 kg. "Orion" can stay in the air for up to 24 hours, its cruising speed is 200 km/h, the maximum flight altitude is 7,500 meters.
