The Sosna short-range anti-aircraft missile system continues to demonstrate its versatility. At the seventh International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021", a version on the chassis of the four-axle domestic armored personnel carrier BTR-82A was presented for the first time.
Previously, we have already shown options based on the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle and the MT-LB light armored multi-purpose tractor. The last sample, as well as the combat compartment of the automated complex itself, is also on display.
This SAM is known for its high tactical and technical characteristics and can hit a variety of air targets, including drones, cruise missiles or guided aviation ammunition.

The installed optical-electronic sighting system is capable of detecting the enemy in a hidden mode at any time of the day. The affected area reaches 10,000 meters in range and 5,000 meters in height.
The launch of missiles is carried out without stopping, while driving. The ammunition includes twelve missiles. In the calculation - two people.
It should be noted that wheeled chassis like the BTR-82A increase mobility and reduce the cost of operating military equipment.
