KUBINKA (Moscow region), 23 Aug-RIA Novosti. The production of the latest BT-3F floating armored personnel carriers is planned to begin at the end of 2021, Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec arms cluster, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"The BT-3F armored personnel carrier is at the final stage of testing, they are already 95% complete. The car has been tested in marine conditions, firing, sea trials and others. By the end of this year, "High-precision complexes" will be able to start organizing the production of the product, " Ozdoev said.
The new BT-3F floating tracked armored personnel carrier was first presented at the Army-2016 forum. It can move on water and land from transport planes. The crew of the BT-3F is three people, while the armored personnel carrier takes on board up to 14 paratroopers.
A remote-controlled combat module with a 7.62 mm machine gun with a thermal imaging sight and a laser rangefinder is installed on the roof of the combat vehicle. A diesel engine with a capacity of 500 horsepower allows you to reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour on land, and up to 10 kilometers per hour afloat.
