It is intended mainly for the identification and neutralization of mines
PATRIOT PARK /Moscow Region/, August 22. /TASS/. The multifunctional robotic complex "Yantar" for equipping Russian anti-mine ships was first presented by the Kaliningrad company "Idrobaltika" at the Army-2021 forum.
"The Yantar complex is intended mainly for the identification and neutralization of mines. It has a simple design, can be installed on any carrier, including minesweepers of all Russian projects, it is functional when solving mine defense tasks, " Sergey Tsurkan, general director of the design and production enterprise, told TASS.
He specified that Idrobaltika offers to supply the Yantar robotic complex with the remote-controlled uninhabited underwater vehicle Pluto Plus and the Pilot control system to any Navy ships to increase their mine-fighting capabilities and with subsequent maintenance.
According to the general director of Idrobaltika, the company is working on the project in close cooperation with the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard, where the mine defense ships of the 12700 Alexandrite project and the Almaz Central Design Bureau are being built, where they are being developed.
The device presented at the stand of the Main Command of the Russian Navy is an underwater "helicopter" with five propellers, which allows it to perform tasks at a depth of 400 m, at a current speed of 3 knots, sea waves of 4 points and zero visibility. With a mass of 320 kg, it has the ability to use payloads weighing up to 100 kg. Thanks to its design, the device easily descends to a depth and quickly returns to the surface. If such a need arises, the operator can take over manual control at any time.
