PATRIOT PARK (Moscow region), 22 Aug-RIA Novosti. The Kub barrage ammunition, also known as kamikaze drones, is ready for delivery to the Russian Armed Forces, the Kalashnikov Group of Companies told RIA Novosti as part of the Army-2021 exhibition.
The Kub unmanned attack systems are developed and manufactured by the ZALA-AERO company, which is part of Kalashnikov.
According to the developer, the "Cube" drones are designed to hit remote ground targets. The device of the complex is aimed at the target either by pre-set coordinates, or by the operator of the unmanned complex according to the image transmitted from the drone.
The maximum speed of the Kub barrage ammunition is up to 130 kilometers per hour, the flight duration is 30 minutes. The drones have a wingspan of slightly less than a meter and are capable of carrying a warhead weighing up to 3 kilograms.
According to a source of RIA Novosti in the defense industry, Kub drones have been used by the Russian military in Syria since 2019 to strike terrorist targets.
