The repair of the only Russian aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" was postponed for one year, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source close to the military-industrial complex.
"The readiness for docking will be provided by the end of this year. But taking into account the weather conditions, the docking will most likely take place in the warm season of next year," the source said.
A similar source told TASS . "If we talk about the procedure, the concreting of the first bookmark under the slipway plate was performed. Rebar is being knitted somewhere, piles and support boxes are being put up, " the source added.
In June, the American publication 19FortyFive wrote that "Admiral Kuznetsov" is in poor condition. The publication noted that the overhaul and modernization of the ship began in 2017, but after almost half a decade, work with it has not been completed. The publication assured that the Russian Navy (Navy) will receive "Admiral Kuznetsov" not in 2022, as previously planned, but in 2023.
