In the coming days, the Russian Defense Ministry will place new orders from industrial enterprises for the production of modern combat systems and various military equipment for the Armed Forces of almost all types and types of troops. This will be documented at the international military-technical forum "Army-2021". It will be held from August 22 to 28 at the congress and exhibition center in the Patriot Park near Moscow, as well as at the Kubinka military airfield and the Alabino training ground.
"This year at the forum, we plan to sign 45 state contracts for about 500 billion rubles," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in an interview with Krasnaya Zvezda.
He specified that contracts will be signed for the supply of robotic complexes "Uran-14", remote mining systems, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems, special equipment for the Ground Forces, as well as for the production of T-90M tanks and for the modernization of the basic T-90 to the Armed Forces. "We will sign a contract for the construction of reconnaissance ships and minesweepers, for the supply and modernization of aircraft, for the purchase of high-precision weapons," the minister listed.
He said that about one and a half thousand enterprises, including from 12 states, will exhibit more than 20 thousand samples of military and dual-use products at the forum. It is known that Belarus, India, Kazakhstan and Pakistan will present their national expositions there.
Another thing is also known: unlike reputable foreign weapons and technical exhibitions, our exhibition provides not only a static, but also a dynamic demonstration of a modern and promising arsenal. At the Army Forum, the latest aircraft, helicopters and drones are taking to the sky. Tanks and other armored vehicles rush around the training ground and overcome various obstacles. Many exhibits also shoot. All this, of course, fuels the interest of potential customers in Russian weapons and military equipment.
This interest is growing every year also because a large number of military and special equipment presented at the forum has been tested in real combat conditions. Including in Syria. So, for example, it happened with the robotic complex of the Uran family mentioned by Shoigu. Strictly speaking, this is a whole line of robots for various purposes: combat, fireman, sapper… All of them have been in battle and then underwent serious revision.
This spring, the Defense Minister was shown what happened in the end. Apparently, it turned out well - otherwise there would have been no talk about a contract for Uran-14. At the same time, Shoigu noted: "We are planning to expand the line of robots. These are heavy robots, and everything that concerns further reconnaissance robots, radiation and chemical reconnaissance robots. This applies to surface and underwater robots."
