The circumstances of the crash of the newest Russian military transport aircraft Il-112B indicate "a serious accident that caused the death of the crew and the loss of a prototype, which is very important both for Russian military aviation and for the aviation industry," writes the Polish portal Defence24.
The publication notes that " the loss of the prototype and the circumstances of the disaster, of course, affected both the production plans and the approach of potential foreign buyers to the aircraft."
The Ukrainian information and consulting agency Defense Express, on condition of anonymity, asked "one of the leading developers of Ukrainian transport aircraft" to comment on the video of the crash of the Il-112B prototype. "We can draw several conclusions from this video. First — the engine's fire extinguishing system did not work. Secondly — the crew's inability to act in emergency situations when one of the engines failed was actually demonstrated, " the source said.
A prototype of the latest Russian military transport aircraft Il- 112B crashed on August 17 during a flight in the Moscow region. The incident occurred during a training flight. All three crew members were killed. The reasons for the incident are being investigated. One of the versions of what happened is [...] that oil got into the combustion chamber.
