"This year it will include competitions not only for teams of professional pilots, but also for teams of the Ministry of Defense, Rosgvardiya and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. There we will show what is already being used in Syria today - in particular, combat robots, reconnaissance robots, mine clearance robots, sapper robots, robots for extinguishing and working in dangerous environments," Shoigu said in an interview published by the Argumenty i Fakty newspaper.
The Army-2021 MVTF will be held in the Moscow Region on the basis of the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center (CEC), as well as at the Kubinka airfield and the Alabino training ground in the period from August 22 to 28.
Shoigu said that a cluster of radio-electronic and information technologies, as well as artificial intelligence, will be deployed in one of the pavilions on the territory of the Patriot ECC within the framework of the Year of Science and Technology held in Russia.
"This is such a very, very important direction. Let's show you where we are today. Without embellishment. But there is a good dynamic there, " the Defense minister noted.
According to him, the exhibition of the Military Innovation Technopolis "ERA" is planned to show the best developments of the winners of the exhibitions "Day of Innovations of the Ministry of Defense of Russia" in universities and research organizations of the military department. "It will be interesting," Shoigu stated.
"Together with the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission, we are forming the exhibition "Diversification of the Russian military-industrial complex". You know the task of our president: 2025 - 30%, 2030 - 50%, " the minister said.
He said that promising samples of weapons and military equipment used in the Arctic zone will be demonstrated at the open site of the Patriot Exhibition Center.
"In the aviation cluster at the Kubinka airfield," the minister continued, " we will present expositions of modern and promising aviation equipment and weapons. All aviation, aerobatic teams will be shown, but the main thing, of course, is the first helicopters and aviation equipment for special Forces and Special Operations Forces (SSO). And this is a completely different matter. If earlier we had special forces and SSO flying on what everyone else was flying on, today they have equipment that facilitates reconnaissance, and many other components that are needed in the work."
Shoigu said that the demonstration program at the Alabino training ground was prepared "in the form of tactical episodes to show the capabilities of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces and branches of the Armed Forces."
